Kuwait Halts Carton Exports for 3 Months

Kuwait City, Kuwait: Kuwait’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry, led by Minister Abdullah Al-Joan, has announced a three-month ban on carton waste exports and re-exports. This initiative aims to bolster domestic recycling efforts and secure a steady supply of this crucial material for Kuwaiti factories.

The ministry explained that cartons are essential for manufacturing various products and maintaining reasonable prices for the local market. Local factories require up to 30,000 tons of carton material every month, and recycling used cartons is vital to meet this demand.

According to the official statement, the ban on exports reflects Kuwait’s commitment to environmental preservation. Recycling helps conserve natural resources, aligns with the practices of developed nations, and promotes responsible waste management, reported KUNA.
