Ambassador Le Flécher emphasized the positive impact of the European Commission’s September 2023 decision to implement the “cascade” visa program. This program streamlines travel for Kuwaiti citizens by allowing them to obtain a five-year Schengen visa valid for most European countries with a single application. However, she cautioned that anticipated significant global increases in visa applications for France. This is mainly because the country hosting the 2024 Olympic Games during peak tourist season are likely to result in longer processing times.

To ensure a smooth visa application process, the French Embassy strongly encourages applicants to submit their applications well in advance of their travel dates. Ideally, applications should be submitted at least nine weeks before departure. With the earliest submission window being six months prior to the planned trip. The Embassy advises meticulous review of all required documents and information to avoid delays, reported Arab Times.

French tourism remains incredibly popular among Kuwaiti travelers, with visa applications on the rise. The new “cascade” visa program is a boon for Kuwaitis, simplifying travel across much of Europe. However, with France hosting the 2024 Olympics during peak season, expect longer visa processing times. To avoid delays, Kuwaiti travelers are urged to submit their applications well in advance. Ideally at least nine weeks before their trip. For full details and appointment scheduling, visit the French visa website (https://france-visas.gouv.fr/) and Capago (https://www.capago.eu/).
