Kuwait: Residents of Sabah Al-Ahmad City can finally celebrate an end to their sewage woes that plagued the area for over 12 years. The Ministry of Public Works announced the successful completion of a project connecting the city’s pumping station to the newly operational Umm Al-Hayman purification station.

“The sewage problems that caused significant inconvenience for residents for more than a decade have been completely resolved,” said Eng. Abdul Rahman Al-Enezi, Assistant Undersecretary for Sanitary Engineering Affairs at the Ministry. The connection eliminates the previous issues of unpleasant odors, insect infestations, and stagnant sewage, which had been a source of frustration and numerous complaints from residents.

This achievement is attributed to the Ministry’s dedication to accelerating procedures and overcoming obstacles in the connection process. The project aligns with directives from Dr. Noura Al-Mudhaan, Minister of Public Works and Minister of State for Municipal Affairs, who emphasized prioritizing a swift solution for the residents.

The Umm Al-Hayman purification station boasts a daily capacity of 500,000 cubic meters. This significantly exceeding Sabah Al-Ahmad’s current sewage output of 30,000 to 36,000 cubic meters per day. This ensures the system’s ability to accommodate the city’s future growth and prevent future sewage-related issues. This successful project signifies a significant improvement in the quality of life for Sabah Al-Ahmad residents. Also demonstrates the Ministry of Public Works’ commitment to addressing infrastructure challenges in Kuwaiti communities.
