Encouragingly, the data also reveals a positive trend in residency law compliance. The number of documented violations decreased from 133,440 in 2022 to 121,190 at the close of 2023.

The private sector workforce forms the largest category, encompassing 1.5 million visa holders. Domestic workers constitute a significant segment (786,000), followed by those on family visas (504,170). Additional visa categories cater to temporary residents, government employees, investors, students, and self-sponsored individuals.

While violations have shown a decrease, domestic workers continue to represent the majority of offenders (60,700). This highlights the need for continued efforts to ensure adherence to regulations.

This news underscores Kuwait’s growing dependence on foreign labor, particularly in the private sector and domestic spheres. The decline in residency violations suggests potential improvements in regulatory frameworks or enforcement mechanisms, reported Indians in Kuwait.
