Kuwait: Kuwait has withdrawn citizenship from over 211 individuals within the past two weeks, according to Al-Qabas. This action targets those who obtained citizenship through forgery, deception, or failing to disclose dual nationality.

The Supreme Committee for Citizenship is reviewing a backlog of cases involving “counterfeiters, fraud, and deception in obtaining citizenship.” The committee also investigates individuals with dual citizenship who haven’t chosen between their nationalities, as well as Kuwaiti women who married Kuwaiti men solely for citizenship and then divorced shortly after.

The Ministry of Interior received 407 reports of potential citizenship fraud after opening a dedicated hotline. These reports are currently under investigation before being presented to the Supreme Committee for a final decision.

Officials emphasized that the citizenship withdrawals follow established legal procedures and will continue in the coming period.
