Kuwait, GCC Collaborate to Improve Emergency Management

Kuwait City, Kuwait: In a collaborative effort to bolster regional preparedness, the Kuwait Fire Force and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Center for Emergency Management convened for a crucial meeting on May 7th. Major General Khaled Fahd, Acting Chief of the Kuwaiti Fire Force, hosted Brigadier General Dr. Rashid Al Marri, Head of the GCC Center, and his delegation at the General Fire Department headquarters.

The discussions centered on exploring avenues for cooperation in mitigating disaster risks and enhancing emergency response capabilities across the GCC member states. Brigadier General Dr. Al Marri offered insights into the GCC Center’s role in facilitating collaborative efforts to effectively manage emergency situations throughout the region.

In turn, Major General Fahd presented an overview of the existing preventive measures implemented by the Kuwaiti Fire Department to minimize disaster and accident risks. The visiting delegation also gained firsthand experience by observing the operations center’s functionalities and established response protocols.

The meeting concluded with a positive agreement to establish a formal framework for ongoing cooperation, ensuring both parties can effectively work together towards achieving their shared goals of regional safety and preparedness. Brigadier General Ahmed Hammoud, Acting Vice President of the Control Sector, Brigadier General Ahmed Al-Daihani, Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, and other senior fire force officials also attended the meeting.
