Over 400 Domestic Worker Recruitment Complaints Filed

Kuwait City, Kuwait: The Public Authority for Manpower (PAM) in Kuwait has revealed a significant number of complaints regarding domestic worker recruitment in April.

According to a report released by the PAM’s Department for Regulating the Recruitment of Domestic Workers, a total of 417 complaints were filed during the month. These complaints are currently under investigation by the Authority.

“The high number of complaints underscores the need for continued vigilance in the domestic worker recruitment sector,”- PAM spokesperson. “The PAM is committed to ensuring fair and ethical treatment of both employers and workers.”

The report also highlighted other key findings:

  • 447 active recruitment offices were operating in Kuwait as of April.
  • Licensing activity included the cancellation of 7 licenses, renewal of 21 licenses, issuance of 9 new licenses, reinstatement of 4 suspended licenses, and suspension of 8 licenses due to violations.

The PAM’s focus on regulating the recruitment process aims to protect the rights of domestic workers and promote ethical practices within the industry, reported Arab Times.
