A joint committee formed by the Capital Governorate and the Kuwait Voluntary Work Center has begun planning to address cleanliness issues, enhance amenities, and improve public facilities within the historic market.

Sheikh Abdullah Salem Al-Ali, Governor of Kuwait City, emphasized the importance of preserving Souq Mubarakiya’s unique heritage. He described it as a vibrant space that blends architectural beauty with tourism, commerce, and entertainment, attracting both locals and tourists from across the region.

The committee’s plan will focus on maintaining the market’s historical character while incorporating modern improvements. This includes enhancing public sanitation, developing necessary facilities, and adding aesthetic touches. Governor Al-Ali pledged the Capital Governorate’s full support in collaborating with relevant government bodies and private entities to revitalize Souq Mubarakiya.
