Wednesday’s Peak:

  • Heavy Rain: The heaviest rainfall is anticipated at midday Wednesday, particularly in central and southern regions, lasting until early nighttime.
  • Hail and Strong Winds: The rain may be accompanied by hail and strong winds exceeding 60 kilometers per hour, causing dust storms and reduced visibility.
  • High Seas: The combination of wind and a low-pressure system will lead to rough seas.

The weather is expected to gradually improve Thursday morning, with less cloud cover and reduced rain chances. Fog formation is possible during the evening. There’s a chance of rain returning Friday, primarily in northern and coastal areas.

Ministry Prepares for Flooding:

In anticipation of the heavy rainfall, the Ministry of Public Works has implemented a comprehensive preparation plan. This includes:

  • Deployment of Rainwater Pumps: Teams are strategically deploying pumps in various locations to prevent flooding.
  • Emergency Response Teams: Dedicated teams are on standby to respond to emergencies at critical sites.
  • Pump Maintenance: Pumps within tunnels and along highways are undergoing maintenance to ensure functionality.
  • Equipped Vehicles: The ministry has prepared a fleet of water removal vehicles to address any flooding issues.

The Kuwait Meteorological Department continues to monitor the weather situation closely and will provide updates as needed. Residents are advised to stay informed and exercise caution during this period of potentially hazardous weather, reported KUNA.
