Key elements of the plan include:

  • Vaccination Clinics: 41 designated preventive health centers across Kuwait will provide essential vaccinations and health guidance to pilgrims.
  • Mandatory Vaccinations: Pilgrims must receive the meningitis vaccine (Neisseria meningitis), as mandated by Saudi Arabian authorities.
  • Recommended Vaccinations: Health officials strongly advise pilgrims to be up-to-date on seasonal influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations. Additionally, depending on their point of arrival, pilgrims may need destination-specific vaccinations to ensure their health.
  • Pre-Hajj Health Assessment: Dr. Al-Sanad emphasized the importance of pilgrims, especially the elderly and those with chronic conditions, to undergo a health assessment with their physician before departure. This assessment verifies health status and ensures pilgrims have necessary medical reports and medications readily available.
  • Preventive Health Guidance: To promote a safe pilgrimage, Dr. Al-Sanad encouraged pilgrims to receive vaccinations at least 10 days before departing. Additionally, preventive health centers will offer guidance on measures to prevent respiratory infections, waterborne diseases, food-related illnesses, and heatstroke.
