Kuwait Offers Repatriation, Aid After Deadly Fire

KUWAIT CITY, Kuwait: A massive fire in Mangaf has claimed the lives of 48 people, including 45 Indian nationals and 3 Filipinos. Following the tragedy, His Highness the Amir of Kuwait has directed the preparation of planes to repatriate the remains of the deceased Indian nationals to their home country. The Amir has also pledged financial assistance to the families of the victims.

Authorities are still working to identify the remaining body.

Kuwait’s Interior Minister, Sheikh Fahd Al-Yousef, confirmed these developments and reported that new legislation is forthcoming to address property code violations. The new laws will allow authorities to remove violations immediately without prior warning. The legislation is expected to be enacted within the next two weeks.

Minister Al-Yousef also addressed requests from property owners for a grace period to rectify violations. He emphasized that enforcement efforts will proceed uninterrupted despite these requests.
