Who Gets Free Treatment?
- Bedoun residents with valid IDs
- Children of Kuwaiti women married to non-Kuwaitis
- Non-Kuwaiti husbands of Kuwaiti women
- Citizens from the Cooperation Council with valid identification
- Scholarship students
- Residents of social care homes
- Children under 18 diagnosed with cancer in Kuwait
- Non-Kuwaiti children under 12 with severe disabilities
- Prison inmates
- Residents of domestic worker shelters
- Members of official delegations
- Transit passengers
Who Pays, and How Much?
- Non-Kuwaiti visitors without health insurance: 10 dinars
- Non-Kuwaiti residents with health insurance: 2 dinars (service fee) + 5 dinars (treatment fee) (includes diplomats)
- Illegal residents without valid IDs: 10 dinars
- Domestic workers: 1 dinar (covers all services and treatments)
- Ministry employees and their families: 2 dinars (service fee) + 5 dinars (treatment fee) (except radiology and nuclear medicine)
Ministry Streamlines Public Relations for Better Service
In a separate move, the Ministry aims to improve administrative efficiency. Public relations and media departments across health institutions will now report directly to a central director. This restructuring aligns with international best practices, aiming to enhance communication and service quality, reported Arab Times.
