Residents have 30 days, starting from May 26th, to update their addresses to avoid penalties. Failure to comply could result in a fine of up to 100 Kuwaiti dinars per person.

Here’s how to update your address:

  • In-person: Visit a PACI headquarters or branch in person. Bring your civil ID, rental contract (if applicable), rent receipt, and a statement from the homeowner verifying your new address (if renting). Property owners should bring their new property document.
  • Electronic: Alternatively, update your address electronically through the Sahel application.

For residents who do not update their addresses:

  • PACI will send you a text message notification (through Sahel).
  • If you ignore the notification, your civil ID will be suspended in the Kuwait Mobile ID application (data remains on Sahel).
  • Your name may be published in the government’s official gazette (Kuwait Yom).
  • Continued non-compliance could result in legal action.

PACI also advises government and private agencies to verify the validity of civil IDs through the Sahel or Kuwait Mobile ID applications, not just the physical card, reported Al Rai daily.
