EU Ambassador to Kuwait Anne Koistinen presented the 2023 Chaillot Prize to KSHR President Khaled Al-Hamidi. She praised the organization’s longstanding commitment to human rights in Kuwait. She highlighted their work supporting migrant workers and raising awareness of their labor rights.

Al-Hamidi expressed his gratitude for the award, recognizing it as a “great moral support” for KSHR’s mission. He emphasized their tireless efforts in protecting migrant workers’ rights through the “Together” project, a collaboration with the EU, Netherlands Embassy, Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and others.

This recognition comes after the fourth EU-Kuwait human rights dialogue held in Brussels in December 2023. The discussions reaffirmed both parties’ commitment to open dialogue on human rights challenges and best practices, reported Al Rai daily.
