On a brighter note, the sources indicated a significant decline in patient visits to Ministry of Health clinics over the past year.

In a separate development, the Kuwait Cancer Control Center’s Oncology Surgery Department is hosting a practical scientific workshop on breast reconstruction and plastic surgery following tumor removal or mastectomy. The workshop runs from today until next Thursday and will be led by visiting experts from Britain and Brazil.

Dr. Magda Al-Saleh, Consultant Surgical Oncologist and Head of the Breast Oncology and Reconstructive Surgery Unit at the Center, said the workshop will involve presenting 34 medical cases of partial or total mastectomies to the visiting delegation, followed by performing the appropriate reconstructive surgeries. Dr. Al-Saleh expressed her satisfaction with the participation of fellow doctors and surgeons from the Gulf states, Britain, Egypt, and Kuwaiti hospitals in this important scientific and practical event.
